How to Tell If an Amano Shrimp Is Pregnant
Amano shrimp are a popular aquarium species, favored for their ability to clean up algae and keep tanks clean. While there’s no surefire way to tell, there are a few signs you can look out for that may indicate that an Amano shrimp is pregnant.
Checking for a Gravid Spot on the Amano Shrimp
The first sign that an Amano shrimp is pregnant is a gravid spot on its underside. This is a white patch of eggs, located between the first two pairs of legs and just above the tail.
